[Interstate Drifter 2000 [demo]]

Hello! Biz from Bizmaster Studios here! As a wannabe dev and pixel artist, I found you through your pixel art book series "The Travelling Monks" in its early stages, and followed you since then. I had kept an eye on the progress you have posted on this game, then decided to check it out. And I am so glad I did.
The handling is unique and awesome fun. The art direction is really cool, and fairly well drawn for visibility as well! There was one big problem though......I WANT MORE!
This game is awesome fun, and I would totally play a fuller version of this game. I can imagine levels, some that you can't progress past without a certain score, or even just a bunch of levels with high scores since it is really arcady game! Maybe a World Cup version with a tally highscore from all the races!
Anyways, love it!

Very basic, but a good start. Looks like you have the "stat" and progressive side of things down. Now you need to give people a bit more of a goal to reach. A bunch of achievements for reaching certain goals. Perhaps some upgrades for certain goals. A reason more than just "reach 10,000,000" if you know what I mean :)
It is hard to play this for more than 10 or so minutes otherwise.
I really look forward to what you create in the future!

Really like your pixel work!
I wonder if your highlights/shadows would show up more with more contrast? It might give it more depth. I might be wrong, but it is worth a try :)
